Common Question from Spokane: Where do I start?

Spokane has many places to go to exercise. Deciding to start an exercise program is the first step in making a positive change in your life that will give you more energy and self confidence. The hard part is finding what works for you and disciplining yourself to stay on that exercise program. Not to mention there are so many programs out there to choose from. So where do you start in choosing an exercise program? One of the best ways to get started is consulting a personal trainer. He or she can get you started a good program that fits you.

What Worked for Me…

Spokane has some really good person trainers. I started with a personal trainer who got me on an exercise program that has changed my life. I told my trainer what my goal was and he spelled out what I needed to do to achieve my goal. My current program includes…

  • Monday - Cardio, Abs, and Leg weight lifting
  • Tuesday - Upper body weight lifting and Abs
  • Wednesday - Cardio, Abs, and Leg weight lifting
  • Thursday - Upper body weight lifting Abs
  • Friday - Light cardio and abs.

My exercise program is a lot and may not work for you. I spend a lot of time in the gym. Also I did not start out on this program. I started out working out 30 minutes a day strengthening my core muscles and doing a lot of cardio. Doing this enabled my body to handle the workout I am on today.

Your Goal.

Spokane is a busy place and for many people so it is hard to find the time to exercise.

The time you have available to exercise will play a big part in determining your exercise program. If you want to gain a lot of muscle and be really fit you will need to spend an hour or more a day exercising. If you want to lose weight and get in good shape 30 minutes a day will work just fine. So before you get started decide what you want and the time you have to exercise. I personally want to gain muscle and be as fit as possible. So I am in the gym 5 days a week for over an hour each day. No matter what the program you choose to start the most important thing is to stick with that program and eat healthy. If you stick with it you will reach your goal and the reward is priceless.

Your Results.

 

The end result of a good exercise program is a more energized and happier life. You feel good about yourself and you will love the way you look in the mirror. The path to success is to set a goal, determine the amount of time you can spend exercising, pick a program, and stick with it. I highly recommend starting out with a personal trainer even if you only have a couple of sessions with the trainer. A trainer will be able to get you going in the right exercise program for you.
