How to Make a Dirty Job Fun – Spokane House Cleaning

Spokane House CleaningHave you ever heard of Mike Rowe? He’s that guy on cable (dish if that’s what you have) who goes around, looking for some of the dirtiest jobs around. Well, here’s one Mike, I don’t think you thought of, dirty Spokane House Cleaning.

I know, you’re thinking, how can house cleaning be a dirty job; especially one that would warrant such recognition. Well, some houses are that dirty, but that’s not the point. Guys, be honest with me, most of us back away from house cleaning as if it were the ugliest, dirtiest job we could think of. You women, after doing it all day, act like it is the toughest – maybe even the dirtiest – job on the face of the earth.

Cleaning the house doesn’t have to be a job you hate. Quite simply, all you need to do is get organized, make a plan, and add a little fun. I know it seems impossible to make cleaning the bathroom fun. However, if we work at it, maybe we can come up with a way or two that might help.

Organize to Save Time for Fun

First let’s start with organization. There are plenty of things you do when cleaning your home and many different pieces of equipment and products you use. If you leave the use of these products and tools to haphazard organization you may find yourself running around a lot, just trying to get the job done.

One way to organize is to place tools and products close to where you use them. For instance (if you don’t already do this), place your bathroom cleaning products in the bathroom. Even if you use a multipurpose cleaner for kitchen and bath, keep a supply in both places.

Another organizational idea is to have a handy cart or tote available (or even a cleaning apron) that you can move from room to room as you go. Place all the items you would use to clean your house inside – and away we go. Doing this will also cut down on the running around and help you get the job done quicker. Additionally, it gives you a single place to look when you need to repurchase supplies or if you’re just looking for something when needing to do spot cleaning.

Making Plans for Fun

Planning Spokane House CleaningNow that you have organized all our supplies and tools it’s time to execute our plan. What’s that? You haven’t planned out how you will clean your house. Don’t fret, most of us probably attack Spokane house cleaning without a plan. We go about cleaning in a haphazard way; no care about how much time it will take. Yah, right as if time doesn’t matter.

Spending a little time to plan how you will clean your house can actually save you even more time, and I’m sure you would love to get some of that back. Sit down right now…. wait, finish reading this article first… and plan out how best to attack cleaning your house. If you give enough thought to it I am sure you will find that there is a systematic way you can approach the task at hand and make it more efficient. Here are a few tips.

Cleaning Efficiency Tips:

· Concentrate on what you are doing – don’t let your thoughts distract you

· Make every step count – think ahead and know what your next step is

· Carry your supplies keep organized and take your supplies with you as you go

· Work from the top down – This will help you keep focused and work systematically

Keep in mind that house cleaning is a job done by professionals. Taking a professional look at the issue will get you the efficiencies a professional could bring to the task and give you a since of accomplishment.

Don’t forget to make it fun

We shouldn’t forget what we set out to accomplish, remember we want to make the job fun. If it isn’t fun then we most likely won’t want to do it. So, here are some ideas to just that.

Turn on the stereo – Tune it to your favorite radio station, or put on your favorite artist, and turn it up LOAD. Having music playing while you work will help you keep up the pace and add a little liveliness to your steps. It also serves as a way to keep your attitude positive and your spirit high.

Set a reward – Determine ahead of time a little surprise for yourself (and anyone else involved) for doing a great job. Having a reward waiting at the end of your chore makes it easier and more exciting to do.

After doing your Spokane house cleaning chore you might consider rewarding yourself with an invigorating, life lifting workout at Physzique – Spokane’s personal trainer; where life truly becomes more fun.
