Music Over Mind For Fitness In Spokane
Friday, March 13th, 2009Using Music to Motivate Yourself to Push Harder
If you are anything like me it takes a lot some days to get motivated to do even the simplest tasks, let alone working out. I have found that a little music is just the kick I need to get moving towards fitness in Spokane.
Who doesn’t get a tad nostalgic at hearing an old song from your high school days, or bat away a tear when the Righteous Brothers come on and play that old song from the movie Ghost, and there is no one in the world who has seen Rocky that doesn’t want to charge the steps of The Philadelphia Museum of Art when hearing the Rocky theme song, Gonna Fly Now.
Music And Motivation
Music and Motivation go hand and hand as far as I am concerned, and when it comes to getting in shape we can all use that extra push, especially for fitness in Spokane when the weather is not always on our side for getting outside.
Music takes your mind off of the fact you are exercising. It’ll distract you and can make your workout fly by a little faster. It’s great to pick songs you can sing to so your mind is focusing on mouthing the words …or belting them out loud if you prefer while accomplishing your fitness in Spokane.
Here are a few of my personal suggestions:
- Gonna Make You Sweat - C&C Music Factory
- Eye of the Tiger - Survivor
- Survivor - Destinys Child
- 4 Minutes - Madonna
- Thunderstruck - AC/DC
- Lose Yourself - Eminem (I prefer the Edited Version)
- Lets Get it Started - The Black Eyed Peas
- The Power - Snap
- Hey Ya - Outkast
- Maneater - Nelly Furtado
Spokane Movie Music
Also, while working towards your goals for fitness in Spokane, try getting pumped up by the music of the movies of Spokane, such as Vision Quest which has great songs such as Only the Young by Journey, or Lunatic Fringe by Red Rider. Or bust a move to I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) by the Proclaimers from the movie Benny and Joon also filmed here in Spokane.
In addition to working out on your own with your favorite music why not try out another great way to get motivated by working with a personal trainer. We are very lucky in terms of our fitness in Spokane with the presence of Zach Hunt, owner of Phyzique Fitness. Achieving your fitness goals becomes much more of a reality with the help of such great motivation!
So next time you are ready to give up because you are sure you just can’t go on, turn up your favorite work-out song and give Zach Hunt a call, you will be surprised with the great results.
