My Secret to getting Fit and Fabulous!

I’m really doing it this time. I’m losing weight and body fat. After years and years of putting on the pounds, I’m getting buff in Spokane.  A Spokane Personal Trainer is helping me do it.

I’ve tried the diets. I’ve joined the gyms. I’ve stopped the diets after a few days and I’ve stopped going to the gym even after I’ve paid for a full year’s membership! But NOT ANYMORE!

Not Another Diet

Weight Watchers, NutriSystem, The Cookie Diet, Atkins, and on and on. All these diets will work — IF you stick to them. That’s the catch. I’ve tried most and I’ve failed them all.  Well, I did lose 15 pounds on Weight Watchers once but that was years ago and there’s much more than 15 pounds hanging around right now.  I thought of trying Weight Watchers again but the weekly weigh-in by a Skinny Minnie wasn’t motivating me.  Nor did I want to sit through weekly lectures no matter how instructional and well intentioned they were.  I was done with it. I really do know what NOT to put in my mouth– most of the time. My problem is exercise!  It’s boring!

Not Another Gym Membership!

I’ve joined the gyms. I’ve walked hundreds of circles around my block. I bought an expensive elliptical that has sat unused in my basement for 5 long years! Gyms are expensive and they can’t work when you don’t show up.  Walking is great but it’s cold outside. Ellipticals, treadmills, and the like are often used only as a place from which to hang clothing and wet towels. The Wii Fit is fun but the little computer guy can’t do or say much when you just plain turn it off and head for the frig.

I Need a Spokane Personal Trainer

What I always thought I needed was a personal trainer. He or she would come right to my house first thing in the morning 5 days a week! In my dreams. I couldn’t afford even one day of personal training. Or so I thought.

I didn’t find a trainer to come directly to my house. But I did find one to whom I could go. And it is affordable afterall!

Now I’m Really Doing It!

Three days a week I drive over to my trainer’s facility. For 40-50 minutes he tells me exactly what to do and for how long. No slacking off there - or else! I don’t know that I have ever worked this hard. Aerobics class in the 80’s? No way. Walking around the block? Forget about it. Treadmills and other equipment? Not so much. In all those scenarios I gave up before I even broke a sweat. Not anymore!

Accountability is the key for me. I can’t just blow it off if I am not feeling in the mood. My Spokane Personal Trainer won’t let me. I can’t slack off on those crunches. He’ll see and then what? I can’t just use a lower weight; I’ll hear about it.

Oddly enough, however, I have no desire to slack off. That’s a first. Each day I go I feel stronger. I can run a little faster. I can lift the weights a little easier. It’s a feeling of accomplishment I haven’t felt for a very long time. It feels good!

I have a good deal of weight to lose and a lot of body to shape up. But I will. This time I know I will. It won’t happen overnight and that is just fine by me. Knowing that it will finally happen is all I need. I feel as thought I have discovered some marvelous secret.

The Secret

The secret is Physzique in Liberty Lake. My trainer’s name is Zach Hunt and he is the owner/operator of Physizque. Zach knows firsthand how it feels to be overweight and out of shape. He was overweight as a teen and lost over 100 pounds! He knows exactly how to get the weight off his clients!!

Trainers are People Too!

I like the fact that Zach was once overweight himself. We often tend to think that trainers and others in the fitness industry have always been fit and healthy. We may wonder if we are being judged for “letting ourselves go.” I like to think Zach understands my pain.

You Can Do It Too

You, too, can discover the secret like I did. Give Zach a call at 800/719-3608. Take a look at this video and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

In Touch And In Shape Is Easier Than Ever With Spokane Facebook

As anyone with a pulse knows, Facebook is one of the biggest communities on the Internet right now. The website has more than 200 million active users worldwide. With nearly 112,000 right here on the Spokane Facebook.

Facebook is a free-access social networking website. Users can join networks organized by city, workplace, school, region and common interests to interact with other people. You can also add friends, send messages and notify others about yourself on your Facebook in Spokane.

There is story after story about friends reconnecting, families reuniting or finding true love (not that I advocate using Facebook as a dating tool). I am a big fan of Spokane Facebook and enjoy reading about what my friends are up to, seeing pictures of their families and exchanging messages on the “Wall”.

About a month ago I started working out with Zach Hunt and have found it to be a life changing experience. I had no idea I was so out of shape, I think I was in denial ….in fact I am sure of it. I love so much what I am doing, and at the same time it is one of the most challenging things I have purposely gone through in a very long time.

Support And Accountability

I know there are many other people on Spokane’s Facebook that are challenging themselves, as I am, by getting in shape with Zach. I am so excited for what my fitness and health have in store for me with all of this accountability.

However, getting in shape and losing weight is not easy! Connecting with other people on Spokane Facebook who have decided to brave this awesome opportunity could have many benefits:

  • Sharing victories
  • Support from others who know first hand what you are going through
  • Encouragement to stick with your goals
  • Extra accountability with eating right and filling out your Physzique Food Journal
  • A chance to connect with possible new friends

With all this in mind I decided to create a Spokane Facebook page, titled Physzique Phoenix. A Phoenix is a mythical bird that can rise out of the ashes in the most difficult of times renewed and ready to take on anything.

I think we all would like to be able to get right back up, even when we struggle or fail at our fitness goals. As Zach would say “jumping up for joy!”  Usually right at the time you think you can not go any further in your workout, the benefits of this remarkable personal trainer come in to play.

This is such an amazing opportunity for anyone who is ready to finally make those life changing decisions. Working out with Zach Hunt of Physzique Fitness in Spokane will give you the kick you need to get motivated again. He will keep you accountable not only with hardcore workouts but also with a food journal. And while you experience this awesome challenge check out Spokane Facebook page Physzique Phoenix and share your goals, heartaches, challenges, victories and anything else that will help you towards your ultimate body. Now is the time!

What Is Your Plate Size Spokane?

plateHow Monitoring The Size of Our Plate Can Benefit Our Waistline

There are many, many, many rules and guidelines and suggestions in fitness and dieting these days, so many I could never begin to list them all. One rule, however, I think is simple, yet very important, portion size. We are told over and over again, and I think we know in our gut, that we need to watch how much food we put on our plate, and stick to the rule of avoiding the urge to go back for seconds.

Let’s take it back to the basics though, something very essential, that is very easily overlooked. Plate size. I know, sounds simple, but plate size can make all the difference in how much you consume at any single meal in Spokane.

Findings on Thenondietermindset.com, show that plate size does truly matter when it comes to eating, because we usually tend to eat what we put on our plate. So instead of measuring food, as a diet would have you do, begin with changing your plates instead. Think about the total diameter of the plate including the rim or border, do not allow portions to reach outside of these diameters.

Our minds can play sly tricks on us but sometimes we can use these little tricks in our favor. If we fill the entire diameter of a 8 inch plate with food and eat all of it, we will feel satisfied, whereas if we fill only half of the diameter of a 12 inch plate, we will feel the need to go back and get more, as if we have been deprived in some way.

We are all bound to be put in situations that make it difficult to make the right food choices, but using some basic and simple reminders we may just be able to keep ourselves in check:

  • If you are heading somewhere you know there will be a lot of food and temptation (i.e. the grocery store, a party or dinner with friends in Spokane), eat before you go. If you go on a full stomach your brain is able to make rational decisions about food.
  • When snacking, portion your snack into a small bowl, you are more likely to consume large amounts if you take the whole bag.
  • When dishing up for a meal, use a salad plate, as opposed to a dinner plate, this will help with portion control, and remember not to go back for more.
  • Drink water, avoid alcohol, soda or any sugary drink. Drink tea for flavor, which had been shown to promote a higher metabolism in studies.
  • Use daily opportunities to gain small bits of exercise, take the stairs rather than the elevator, park at the end of a parking lot and walk, or take a big step and ride your bike or walk to work.

The Bottom Line

Taking all of the above into account, remember the basic rule. You will be amazed by how taking these few bits of advice, especially monitoring your plate size will make a dramatic difference in your weight loss goals.

Dieting, working out and staying fit are not easy things, at least not for most of us. Hold yourself accountable and make sure to tell others your goals and desires to make a lifestyle change. Consider using a personal trainer who will keep you on track with your exercise routine. Or take it a step further and use Zach Hunt with Physzique Personal Training In Spokane WA located in Liberty Lake, he will help you with your workouts, but also hold you accountable for your food intake with a fitness journal, it is amazing how much more you pay attention and make better choices if you know you will be held accountable for your decisions.
