Deciding In The Moment

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

You are at your friends house along with several other buddies and it is getting to be time for your next meal. Your friend decides to order pizza while you are out back chatting with the others. When it arrives the pizza is set out on the counter. You come inside to a counter full of pizza and they look extremely cheesy and they are covered with all your favorite toppings.

The next thing you know you start to justify why you need this pizza and start to contemplate whether you actually should just dive right it. There is a good chance that you will cave into that temptation without any second thoughts.

The Solution

This one can be very hard to deal with. If you go throughout your day seeing what comes your way there is a good chance that something unexpected will pop up. From the previous example you might not have expected that you would be faced with an array of pizzas tormenting your will power. You need to decide at the beginning of the day that everything that you put into your mouth is going to benefit you and bring you closer to your goals.

Pre-plan what you will have throughout the day and if anything deviates from what you had already planned you can easily reject it. You don’t even have a choice to eat anything else during the day because you have already decided that you will eat healthy. Start your day off with a good breakfast and you are on your way to a healthy day.

What’s The First Step?

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

I hope your having a great day so far….
…and a great week, month, year!!

What’s the first step to creating an effective exercise plan?

Scheduling your workouts into your calendar to make sure you
actually do work out. Even the best intentions toward a fitness
plan won’t get you anywhere if you never follow through.

So go get your calendar, planner, PDA, whatever you use to keep
track of activities and for the next month plan out at least 20
workouts.

That means scheduling in a time on each of those days you know you
can get in a workout.

I can’t stress this enough, if your workout is not in your schedule
it won’t happen.

For example, I have a goal of reading a book a week. How do I reach
this goal, by scheduling in reading time each day, as I’ve found
every single time I just go through a day and hope to find some time.

….nope it doesn’t work.

So go get your calendar and start scheduling away!

What am I talking about?

I’m talking about your health and fitness goals!

Yes, you know it, it’s that time of the year where health and fitness
is a priority in your life for…….about 1 day.

I’m willing to be you had your time off during this month of Dec.

the first week, and over half after just the first month.

Have You Heard Of This New Fitness Solution?

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

It’s finally here, the solution that will fix it all.

It’s called the Japanese fitness ring.

What is it?

We’ll the Japanese believe that applying pressure to a particular
finger can help you drop inches from a specific area.

All you have to do is wear this ring on your index finger to target
your hips, middle finger for your butt, ring finger for your stomach
and pinky for your thighs.

If you’re in a hurry buy four and wear them all at once.

The best part is, it’s adjustable — one size fits all.

Now doesn’t that sound awesome.

Okay, please excuse my sarcasm. I’ve seen some fairly strange fitness
products peddled on TV, but this is just plain absurd.

Why is it that people often look for something outside of themselves
that will get the job done, when everything you need to get in better
shape is with your right now.

Your body and your mouth.

Being that you use your body to exercise regularly and your mouth
to eat healthy food. Well I suppose you would need your hands and
arms to cooperate by putting in healthy foods as well.

So please don’t fall for the products or gimmicks you see on TV,
magazine covers and anywhere else. Whether it’s the slim slippers
the magnetic shorts, the pressure point ring, or some contraption
on TV.

You don’t need it. You’re empowered right now to get results.

Now go after it!!

Has Your Light Turned Green?

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

Guess what, it’s been a week since Thanksgiving. What have you done
since then, as far as eating is concerned.

Have you given yourself the green light to continue the Thanksgiving
spirit of eating into the weekend and the rest of this week.

All too often people turn Thanksgiving, Christmas, a few fammily events, perhaps an office party and New Years into the “Holiday Season” of eating.

4, 5 or at most 6 events turn into 40+ days of constant candy and delectable desserts. The average American gains 10 between Thanksgiving and New Years, don’t let that be you.

Holiday eating is a mindset. Now make up your mind you won’t let
yourself use that as an excuse to eat poorly and take a hiatus from
exercise for the next month.

There is no reason you can’t be 10 pounds lighter by New Years.
